Otakon afforded me a second chance at wearing my Amano Terra, a costume which I admittedly loathed when I wore it for Anime USA last fall. I still have not had a chance to alter or add to the costume in any way, but I did take more care in positioning the scarves and accessories so as to flatter my frame a bit more. I also straightened the wig a bit in the front, since the original style didn't suit my square face. In the end I'm really glad I gave this costume a second chance - I was almost dead-set on selling it for a while - and thankful that I was able to finally get some beautiful photos of it for my gallery. I love that this photo shows many of the small details that might otherwise be overlooked in full-body shots. As I've said before, there's a great deal of detailing yet to be done (every one of the scarves on the mitts is supposed to be beaded/trimmed in a different style, for one) so go easy on me. I'm already planning another Terra costume, this one very different from my previous two. I just can't get enough of that little red dress and the endless possibilities it presents! Potentially TMI, but I feel I ought to mention it: Pardon the really terrible photoshopping on my arms. I had the world's worst bout of heat rash THREE DAYS BEFORE THE CON, and I looked like a puffy radish up until pre-reg Thursday. Even through Saturday I had really gross welts on my arms, so... yeah, I tried to hide them a little bit. ^__^;
